Call for Funding Requests: Women’s History Month x UVA 2024

Join us as we celebrate women’s history! Building on our work to commemorate milestone anniversaries of UVA’s journey to full co-education, the Women’s Center is excited to call for proposals of events contributing to a pan-University celebration in March of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day (March 8).

Three (3) co-sponsorships of up to $2500 each are available to assist partners across Grounds (schools, departments, other units, student organizations) with hosting public Women’s History Month events. Faculty, staff, and students are all invited to submit proposals. Requests for funding can be submitted here by January 28, 2024, 11:59pm.

Our committee will review funding requests and select the successful co-sponsorship proposals, with notifications going out in early February.

In addition to these 3 spotlighted events, the Women’s Center will promote other relevant events sent to the center by February 13 for inclusion on Women's History Month marketing materials.

Join us in sharing stories of strong, accomplished women, celebrating the full range of important roles that women have played in history by walking in their footsteps across Grounds, and be inspired to pursue your own dreams and visions!

Check out our past events page to learn more about the projects that the Women’s Center co-sponsored for Women’s History Month in 2023.

Q: Can student groups/CIOs apply for co-sponsorship?

A: Yes!

A: No! We hope to see a mix of panels, talks, interactive programs, and other events.
